DOUBLE CHIN REDUCTION
The “double chin” can be caused by many factors including, lifestyle, genetics, ageing and excess skin. It's important to note that even with diet and exercise, sometimes the unwanted fat and extra skin doesn’t go away and can make people look heavier and appear older than they actually are.
Previously, surgery was the only option available to reduce a double chin, which could be a painful, expensive experience, requiring quite a bit of downtime. Chin Liposuction is no longer the only option.
My Body Vibes offer 2 treatments which can permanently reduce the double chin in safe and gentle ways. We recommend booking a face to face consultation first to go through the treatments we offer in detail. Every client is different and therefore it best to meet with the practitioner first. The treatments we offer for a double chin include:
3D HIFU ( Reduces fat and tightens the skin around the chin area)
3D HIFU TREATMENT
Our non-surgical face lift treatment, HIFU skin tightening treatment, is effective for lifting and tightening lose and/or sagging skin, and results in a more defined jaw line and reduction of the double chin. It is very popular amongst both men and women who are looking to get rid of their double chin and erase wrinkles.
How Does It Work?
A HIFU facelift works by targeting beams of High-intensity focused ultrasound waves onto the fat cells in your chin, firming and tightening the skin. This method also stimulates the production of collagen which will make your skin appear more youthful and textured while tightening and toning the chin in the long term. HIFU even tightens the superficial (under the skin) muscles of the face and neck which are the same muscles targeted during a surgical face lift. However, unlike surgery, HIFU is non-invasive and non-surgical with no downtime.
When will I see the results of my double chin treatment?
While some clients see an initial effect immediately after their treatment, the real results filter through in the following 6-12 weeks, as your body starts the production of collagen that creates a lifting and tightening effect. Results can be seen up to 9 months following your skin treatment, although this can depend on a variety of factors. This includes age, health, lifestyle and diet.
What about recovery time?
A great advantage of HIFU is that it does not require a prolonged recovery process, so you can go back you work same day. And it comes with very few side effects, most of which usually clear up in a matter of days. For those with a low pain threshold, this treatment could be ideal for you as the sensation is warm and tingly instead of painful.
What Is HIFU Double Chin Reduction?
Double chins can sometimes be a cause of the ageing process. As we go through the natural ageing process collagen production slows down and the jowls and jawline starts to lose elasticity, resulting in the skin becoming looser and showing signs of sagging. This looser skin can create the appearance of a double chin.
Cryolipolysis/Fat Freezing Treatment
One of our most popular non-surgical fat reduction treatment Cryolipolysis, or commonly known as Fat Freezing or Cryo Lipo.
Fat freezing is a non-invasive, non-surgical, clinically proven method break down large pockets of excess fat in the chin and neck area
How Does It Work?
We use Cryolipolysis Fat Freezing technology with a smaller applicator that is specially designed for placement on the sensitive double chin area, to deliver targeted cooling to the treatment area which causes the fat cells to crystallise by a natural process called apoptosis (natural cell death). The dead fat cells are then flushed from the body naturally via the liver and lymphatic system over the next 2-3 months which is when you will see results. Once the targeted fat cells are eliminated from the body, fat can no longer be stored there and fat tissue under the chin is minimized. These results are permanent as long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Choosing Your Treatment
When choosing the best treatment to target and reduce your double chin, it is important to take into account the specifics of your body composition and any factors which have contributed to the excess fat under the chin.
The ideal candidate for HIFU double chin reduction treatment is a client with sagging skin under the chin.
To be eligible for double chin reduction with Fat freezing, the client must have enough pinch able fat in order to fit into the applicator.
If you do not know which treatment suits you, we offer every client a free assessment, prior to treatment to check treatment suitability.
What To Expect At Your Consultation
At your free consultation, the senior technician will asses the areas you are trying to treat and check your eligibility for the treatment by assessing the cause of double chin and the amount of pinch able fat you hold on the stubborn fat areas. The senior technician will go over the recommended treatment/ number of applicators you require to get your desired results and tailor this to your free treatment plan.
As a natural part of ageing, the collagen levels in skin are depleted which can lead to sagging skin which loses its elasticity, firmness and rosy glow. This looser skin can create the appearance of a double chin
While it’s true that you can have a double chin without excess overall body weight, weight gain can be a contributing factor to the appearance of excess fat and loose skin around the chin and neck. This can be exacerbated by a diet rich in high calorie, processed food.
Even if your skin hasn’t begun to show signs of age-related sagging and you’re careful with diet and exercise, you may still suffer from a double chin purely because of your genes. Genes can be a contributing factor for people developing a chin regardless of any lifestyle choices they make. There is evidence to suggest that people with a family history of fat under the chin are more likely to develop their own body fat around the chin area.
Even something as simple as the way you sit or tilt your head can contribute to a double chin. Over time, poor posture can weaken the muscles around the chin and neck which can result in the weakening and underuse of muscles around the chin area.
