Updated: May 22, 2021

What are PDO Threads? PDO (Polydioxanone) threads consist of an absorbable polymer suture like material which is both flexible and durable making it an ideal material for skin rejuvenation, tightening and lifting non-surgically. This material has often been used in heart surgery.

What issues do PDO threads address?

  • Skin rejuvenation as a result of collagen re-production procedure

  • Sagging skin tightening & lifting

  • Restore lost facial volume

Why choose thread lift over face lift?

- Minimal down time

this is consider to be one of the biggest advantages of thread lifting. The patient who's undergoing a face lift surgery may require 24 hr assistance from a caretaker at least 3-5 days after getting back from the hospital. However, since thread lifting procedure can be conducted under local, rather than general aesthesia, which means most likely that the patients will experience a little bit of soreness and swelling after and may need to take the rest of the day off, most can return to work next day.

- Low Risk of scaring and bruising

Thread lifting has very low risk of scarring, bruising, bleeding or other complications. In some rare cases, patients may experience irritation, infection or their sutures becoming visible under their skin. The sutures can then be removed and the patient's face will return to the state before procedure.

- Much more affordable

Since thread lifting is easier to perform than a face lift surgery, they are much more affordable, prices may very depends on how big is the treatment area ( jawline, lower face or full face).

Am I a candidate?

Thread lifts are best suited to patients who are dealing with mild to moderate, rather than severe, signs of skin laxity.

The ideal thread lift candidate is in ones' late 30s to early 50s. Patients who have age-related conditions that make them not suitable for surgery (eg. high blood pressure ,diabetes, and cardiovascular disease) can safely have this treatment because thread lifts can be done under local aesthesia.

It's important to have reasonable expectation, clients should understand that no lifting procedure including both invasive and non-invasive can guarantee permanent results, thread lift on average last up to 3 years.
